Payroll for schools

Payroll comes out of the register the school already marks

Staff records, leave and payroll all run on the attendance the school keeps every morning, so a month’s salary is worked out from days actually served and leave actually approved — not from a sheet somebody rebuilds from memory on the twenty-eighth.

Schools can run it inside the school management software or on its own; the payroll overview describes the system as a whole.

Common questions

Does payroll depend on staff attendance being marked in the same system?

It reads whatever the school records — biometric punches, a register marked in the office, or both. Where a school pays a fixed month regardless of days, the run pays the structure and ignores them.

Can a teacher see another teacher’s salary?

No. A staff member sees their own attendance, leave and payslips. Salary structures are visible only to the staff you give payroll access to.

How does an approved leave reach the timetable?

It shows the person as away that day, so the substitution for each of their periods is offered from the teachers who are genuinely available.

What about staff who joined or left mid-month?

The run works from days in service that month, and arrears or recoveries from an earlier month are carried onto the payslip rather than settled outside the system.
