School management · Library, inventory and store
The library stops being a register nobody can search
Books, stock and the school shop run on the same records as everything else — a book issued sits on that student’s own page, a uniform sold at the counter comes out of stock and onto the family’s bill, and what the store holds is a number rather than an estimate.

Who it helps
Students and parents
- See what is issued, what is due back and what a late return costs, in the app.
- Search what the library holds before walking across to it.
Library and store staff
- Issue and take back a book by scanning it, instead of writing two lines in a register.
- Know what is on the shelf and what is out, without giving up a weekend to stock-taking.
The office
- Put a book or a uniform sold at the counter onto the family’s own bill.
- Order against what the store has actually used rather than what somebody thinks it used.
Leadership
- See what stock is worth and what it costs, in the same books as everything else.
- Know which titles are read and which have not moved in a year.
What it does
- A catalogue of titles and copies with shelves and accession numbers.
- Issue and return by scanning, against the student’s or staff member’s own record.
- Due dates, a reminder before a book falls overdue, and the school’s own late charge.
- Catalogue search for the library desk, and for students in the app.
- Inventory of assets and consumables, with stock in, stock out and reorder levels.
- Cafeteria and school shop sales at the counter, billed to a family or taken as cash.
- Purchases, suppliers and stock value carried into accounts.
- Reports on circulation, dead stock, consumption and what is still outstanding.
Common questions
Do we need a barcode on every book first?
Scanning is quickest, but a title or accession number typed in works the same way. Schools usually label as they go rather than stopping everything to label the whole shelf.
Can a student see what they have borrowed?
Yes, in the app, with due dates and any late charge — which is most of what the library desk is otherwise asked all day.
Does a shop sale reach the family’s fee bill?
It can. A uniform or a book is either taken as cash or added to the family’s bill, and either way it leaves stock and reaches the accounts.
What happens to a book that is lost?
It is written off against the student on the school’s own terms, the copy leaves the available stock, and both the recovery and the write-off appear in the books.
